In this 2day workshop (Aug 13-14) Rene uses Aquabord, an archival quality panel for watercolor. She will share her method of creating rich, vibrant color on this board. This will include how to mix paints on wet board, techniques for adding texture and depth of color, losing your edges, removing unwanted sections of a painting, lighting a subject to achieve depth, layering pigments, how to seal the painting when it's done.
All supplies available at Art Media Please bring: Mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser Eldajon palette or any with paint wells and area for mixing Water pot Brushes:The Risslon Dagger is recommended. It holds lots of paint or water and still makes a fine point. The 3/8"(62861)holds more material and 1/2"(62680)has more control for detail. A liner brush #1 (long narrow bristles) Angular shader #4 to mix paint. Princeton #3050 series recommended for liner and shader Watercolor paint: Recommend M Graham and Winsor Newton Ampersand Aquabord:Choose from a variety of sizes.
Rene Eisenbart is known for watercolor paintings of plants and wildlife, published in The Oregonian and in the book "Plant This" After 25 years as an artist for The Oregonian, Rene is thrilled to pursue the painting of images that speak to her heart. She teaches Botanical Watercolor at the Oregon Society of Artists. |
